"Gita Jayanti" is the birthday of Bhagvad-Gita, the sacred text of the Hindus. It is celebrated on the 11th day of the waxing moon of Margaseersha month (november-december) in the Vedic almanac. It is believed the immortal "Bhagavad Gita" was revealed to Arjuna by Sri Krishna himself in the battlefield of Kurukshetra (in present day Haryana, India) a little over 5000 years ago. Every year in the month of Novemeber or December it is celebrated at Kurukshetra District of Haryana mainly at Brahamsarovar . There will be five day celebrations by Govt and 10 days Craft Mela also held. This is very beautiful event for Kurukshetra itself. Here is some reflections of it:
